Weekend at the Forest Festival

October 10, 2012 - John Zirbs
On Friday, I went to the coronation after i finish my routes, and it was beautiful.

I slept through the Mountain State Forest Festival Firemans Parade Friday night.

On Saturday, I did my paper routes and ate breakfast. Then I went to the lumberjack competition this morning and met Queen Silvia and the Maids of Honor.

I was in the Grand Feature Parade with The Inter-Mountain and its float. I helped throw candy from the truck and after the parade I went out to dinner at Steer Steakhouse.

I attended to the country music show where I saw The Oak Ridge Boys. I met them before the show, and had my picture taken with them.

The most requested song by the audience when they do a show is "Elvira." I like the song "Thank God For Kids" and "Y'all Come Back Saloon." On Sunday, I bid farewell to Maid Silvia the LXVI Emily McKibbon Everson and the Maids of Honor Megan Nida and Emily Thompson. The closing ceremony was held at the Federal Plaza at 2 p.m. All in all, I had a great time at this year's festival. It was really 'Magic In The Mountains.'

See you all next year in 2013!
