God’s plan of “spiritual perfection” is mentioned with Abraham in Genesis 17:1; with the sufferings of Job 1:1 and 2:3; Paul’s hope in Philippians 3:1-16; and his death in 2 Timothy 4:6-8. Enoch was the seventh generation from Adam. Throughout the scriptures, “seven” is God’s number of perfection or “completion.” He was the father of the oldest human, Methuselah, who died at age 969.
