Busy lifestyles have led to fewer people digging in the dirt to plant flowers and the increase in popularity of “instant beauty,” according to Roseann Rosier, owner of Rennix Flowers in Valley Bend.
Over the last few years, Rosier’s customers have opted to purchase ready-made pots and hanging baskets that only need to be placed on the front porch.
Rosier said baskets with three different flower species provide a variety of color for the spring and summer without the work or waiting. She said some of the more popular plants this spring are supertunias, millionbells, verbena, vining vinca and sweet potato vines.
