There's plenty of affordable healthy foods. Geez is a dollar for a head of lettuce, a head of cabbage, a bag of carrots, or a bag of celery expensive? Where do YOU shop?

LOL. Healthy food is not expensive. A bag of chips is almost $4.00; donuts a dozen at a donut shop? Around $6 to $12 dollars. One dollar for a head of lettuce, or cabbage, or carrots and a dollar for a bottle of dressing......broccoli, celery, spinach, peppers, cauliflower....ALL around a dollar or two. Pleeease....stop the whining deceit.

The idea that poor people are to blame for their misfortunes has been assumed since the beginning of history.

The sad thing is, yes most have heard or read this anti-welfare sentiment many times over the past few years, from colleagues and friends to a new Tea Party candidate. Sadly the only recourse for many is to turn to programs like the food stamp program. Yet, there are those who pretend poverty isn’t an issue.

Why should a working person pay higher taxes so that some lazy poor person can pick up another welfare check and then go back to sitting on the couch? Does this sound familiar?
