Deadly sense of entitlement?

Kids learn by example. You teach them to be whiny, little complainers, that's what you end up with. Teach them that winners and losers should be treated the same, and you take away the competitive they need later in life. When you teach them to pout and feel rejected because the other team got a trophy and they didn't, you end up with a spoiled brat that goes running to mommy every time someone out performs them. Competition is just that. You have losers and winners and if your precious little brat cant handle that, then don't enroll them in competitive sports or other events. Whether you believe it or not, honest to goodness competition does build character and creates the shakers and movers that keep our society moving. If you want an example of a loser, look no further than your own fat ass couch potato mommy's boy who doesn't have the drive to do anything well.

True a simplistic answer will not solve the problem 100% of the time. That's why a multifaceted approach will get the best results - and even then, a few such incidents will occur. So why would anyone take the banning of assault type weapons off the table? As far as supporting young people and applauding their successes, that started decades ago to minimize self-loathing. Remember?
