McKinley discusses gun control

This is what really jumped off the page to me about this article: ..." Media members were allowed into the discussion for the first 10 minutes, but were informed by Krushansky they would then be asked to leave so that officials could freely express their opinions and concerns." In my opinion, this "roundtable discussion" was/should have been open to the public. Secondly, the reason for running the media out of the meeting was: "so that officials could freely express their opinions and concerns." What the hel* does this mean? If someone is an "official" and they are speaking for a group of people, then, what they have to say should be public information. This whole scenario of MANAGING THE MEDIA by a member of Congress is cause for great concern! Come on McKinley, step out of the shadows and state your position, stop wetting your finger to check the political wind.

All of you gun owners better watch these weasels. A law requiring gun owners to keep their arms locked up? Why not? They can force you to strap yourself in, in your own car. It's for your own good, and society's good too. Right?

This is how the socialists operate. They chisel away at you, taking away one freedom at a time.

What makes them think they can get away with it? Experience. It's worked just fine so far. If we don't draw the line now, we might as well change the last line of the Star Spangled Banner to:

"the land of the fee, and the home of the slave"

Gotta side up with the Magic man on this one. Is that an "R" in front of McKinley?? Rubberhead? C'mon man tighten up your bootstraps and dig in on this one. The right to keep and bear arms doesn't mean cutting your sleeves off with a buck knife. A well armed militia, civillians, were once burdened with keeping a potentially tyrannical government in check. I can't for the life of me figure out what direction the Republican party is headed, I really want to know. How about a roundtable on why we should cast our votes your way. States rights, natural resources squandered, education would be a few good topics...

First off McKinley, you have no right to tell anyone what to do with their firearms inside their home. A locked up gun is worthless when someone breaks into your home. Do you think whom ever it is breaking in is going to give you time to get your gun out of a locked safe or closet? If you even entertain the idea of giving the police the authority to enter my home for the purpose of checking to see if my guns are locked up, you'll never get another vote from either my wife or myself. I assure you, we know enough gun owners to spread the word all across the state if you think we will stand still for such a stupid idea. We are protected by the constitution from unwarranted searches, and if you think the citizens of this state will stand still for this, you better think again. What you are suggesting is no different than the tactics used by Adolph Hitler during WWII. We have one dictator in the White House, and we don't need another in local government.
