The teachers need to go back to compiling their own test and do away with the multiple choice test prepared by outside sources. Teachers can learn by compiling their own test because it forces them to study the subjects their students are taught. When they went to standardised testing, the teacher was no longer required to compile their own test. They don't have to grade them either. All they have to do it put the overlay on top of the student's test, look to see if the proper box is shaded, and they're done.
Who's to say the tests were correct? Anyone could give test as long as it's done like this. It doesn't take a lot of talent to tell the kids to read such and such chapters, and hand them a test someone else wrote. We were required to read when we were in school too, but the teacher prepared the test and graded them. Most of the time they had more than one test to eliminate cheating because you never knew which one you were getting. Not all students got the same test.
Liberals don't want you teaching children anything other than what THEY want them to know. They want to "indoctrinate" your children, teach them things YOU as their parents wouldn't teach them; things that go 'against' your principles, morals and relgious beliefs. That is why govt entities only want to work within other govt entities. Immorality begets immorality. They are not tolerant of others yet they scream we should be tolerant of them. It's a double standard. It's another liberal socialist indoctrination plan. I suspect a lot of kids will start to be homeschooled with all the trash liberals keep putting in kids heads in schools these days.
Education reform is needed, but everyone seems to overlook the main factor contributing to the decline in education, and that the government meddling in what should be state and local education. Anytime the government gets involved, political agendas get in the way, and like everything else the government regulates, it goes to the dogs.
Seeing what needs to be done is not a hard thing, all we need to do is look at past education successes, and learn from them. The government is too busy degrading the education system for their own agenda, leaving children severely lacking in the skills needed to make it in the workforce. States need to take it upon themselves to get the liberal based programs out of our schools, and get back to the basics. Do that, and the rest will take care of itself.
