Pure.........you DO realize you're asking a liberal to "seek truth" right? It isn't going to happen. The left aren't interested in FACTS or TRUTH; it goes 'against' their immoral agenda!

ALL rapists and murderers should be "executed" and these things would cease happening. But until the liberal sympathizers of criminals rather than victims get voted out of office....it won't happen!

Pure....you cannot teach a ******* anything. Don't waste your breathe. Ignorance is bliss I guess. Seems to be their motto. I mean how stupid is someone who even after being SHOWN facts...continues their ignorant argument like they never saw the FACTS at all?? If they don't agree, facts or not, they just lie lie lie. Even they realize the lies don't work as most people are not as stupid.

Read the article more closely. The law is not going to increase the number of people who report sexual abuse or those who are falsely accused. People who are accused of child abuse go through a rigorous screening process and are not wantonly charged. This law allows prosecutors to charge those who are complicit in child abuse. Your lack of reading comprehension and critical thinking skills are kind of scary...

Can you not see the consequences of reporting someone to the authorities on which you have no solid proof? We are not talking about your run of the mill violation of the law. When you report someone for sexual child abuse, you better have rock solid proof that it happened, because you are forever ruining that person's life.

Even if they are cleared in the eyes of the law, they will forever be guilty in the eyes of everyone else. If they have a business, they'll likely lose it. If they look for work, they probably won't be able to find one anywhere. This isn't something you can accuse someone of and then say, oops, I goofed, sorry.

This is something that cannot be erased from the people's mind. It's just wrong to mandate turning someone in on suspicion only, and here's something the legislature isn't telling you.

If you accuse someone of sexually abusing a child, and that person is exonerated in the courts, you then become liable for all the damage you did to this person's life. You will likely lose everything you own, or will own the fest of your life. And that's if you're lucky.

There's always the possibility that the person you accused will come after you. Once you have robbed them of their dignity, their family and everything else important in their life, they have nothing else to lose. This is something you better think over very carefully if you don't have rock solid proof before you do it. We're talking about ruining an innocent person's life, and the possibility of losing yours. The legislature was dead wrong on mandating turning someone in without sufficient proof of their activities.

Uh-um....you CANNOT 'legislate' morality. This is nothing short of a 'quick' show. Still won't MAKE someone report these things. How about democrats in the state actually make STRICTER child protection laws that give pedophile perverts lifetime sentences or better yet PROVE to us you REALLY care about children and EXECUTE the perverts which is exactly WHAT should be done to these unrehabilitatable insects!!

Now that is a relevant and qualitative letter to the editor. Thank you for this information and for working as an advocate for kids.
