The new technology has done one thing, exposed people like these that may have never been caught had they not used their phones and social media outlets. Many of them aren't smart enough to figure out that you leave a digital trail everywhere you go on the internet, and every phone call and text you sent can be traced. Once it's sent, there's no getting rid of it. It will always linger in cyberspace on a computer somewhere on the web.
It just enhances the fact that most criminals aren't very intelligent. Technology gave them a way to prove how unintelligent they really are.

Actually I think it's 'teaching' a lot of ignorant immoral adults and children that they can get caught by these actions.
I noticed you only mention "kids." Well, how about all the ADULTS caught through the same new media available? There's pros and cons to everything we invent today. There's good and bad in everything. THIS is a good tool being used to 'catch' criminals as well as criminals using them for their trade. So I think we teach children they WILL be caught if they do these things, but leave it alone......it's helping catch those who maybe would not have been so easily caught BEFORE they commit a crime such as adults online enticing underage children for sexual encounters. How often can we say we catch these dispicable perverts 'after' they drive down a road and throw them into their vehicle??? Something to think about!
