Rocky says: "...They open our state to business opportunities and tourism, and provide a safe and convenient way for West Virginians to travel. This grant funding will make sure the state's airports remain safe and running so they can continue to facilitate ongoing air service throughout our state." What a startling revelation, I did not know until now that the Elkins and Buckhannon Airports have passenger and air freight service! What planet is this out-of- touch senator on anyway???? Boondoggles, pure and simple. IMO, it's simple: if these two airports are doing so well in providing this "vital service" to WV, why can they not stand on their own two feet and not accept government welfare. Either, the "vital service" aspect is not working properly or a lack of management exists. A private enterprise would have folded their tent the first year that they were in a negative financial position, but noooo, the gov't will continue to pump millions down these r

To kaleidoscope: In the event you did not know this, Rocky secured a federal grant to extend the runway and make other improvements at the Green Bank Observatory so his Lear Jet could land there, which is very close to his Pocahontas County farm.
