The NRA themselves provide such firearms safety programs; therefore I think gun owners in America would "prefer" the gun banning govt agencies stay out of this effort as they are not 'for' gun safety; they are obviously for destroying that right! I wouldn't attend any safety program funded by our govt. They would 'only' do it with 'ulterior' motives and not for the safety of the gun owners.

Look at the healthcare website for an example. It intentionally keeps folks on the site "long enough to spy around your personal info on your computer system." THAT clarifies my position!!!
