We don't care if you're gay. We just won't tolerate gays attempts to force their PRIVATE lifestyles onto the rest of us. Get over it. THis is UNACCEPTABLE to majority of Americans and other nations worldwide. But liberal media spreads LIES that it's the opposite. I guess Elkins found out eh? Stop listening to liberal media and you'll really see what's real and what's not. Otherwise, enjoy your unreal worldview.

No; what's dispicable is reaction by liberals to those who trust God and believe immoral acts are STILL immoral. Get over it!

How very nice. A club for heterosexuals who are 'happy'.

what, I'll try to walk you through this:

1. The club was formed in response to bullying of gays and lesbians in the school.

2. The club's goal is to help gays and lesbians who are bullied. They don't have any authority, so how they deal with bullies remains to be seen.

3. The existence of bullying in the school and the need for forming such a club indicate that school officials have not been handling bullying complaints and cannot do so.

4. The fact that school authorities cannot maintain order in the school strongly suggests that they need to be replace by people who can maintain order. So why is that not happening?

what, I hope that's clear enough for you.

what, get real, please. If talk were effective, why can't school authorities do the talking. Why a need for the club.

Again, you have avoided responding to my point that the school authorities have lost control of the school and need to be replaced.

What, do you really think "dialog" will be effective in bullying incidents? I've known bullies, and they're more prone to action than to dialog.

What would the club do? Call the bullies in and tell them they're not behaving appropriately? Or would they leave notes in the bully's locker?

I'd like to know more.

And what about the principal and the superintendent not being in control? They have the authority, so if they can't handle the bullying situations, they need to be replaced.

I have a question: Why is such a club necessary at EHS? Is this an indication that school authorities have lost control, and if so, the school board needs to step in an fire the principal and the superintendent.

Next question: What would the club do when it encounters bullying? Does it have some magical powers? Will members beat the snot out of the bullies? What is the practical effect of having such a club at EHS?

Before commenting on things about which you are misinformed, or in this case uninformed, do some research. I went to the GSA web page to find out what the club's mission is. I didn't find a magic hat full of tricks anywhere. Also, it is irrelevant that the community values Christianity (separation of church and state). Even if your values are in the majority, and they very well may be, then you could not argue that other values recognized by even one member of the community do not belong in schools. It seems you're assuming that your values are superior and every other value is not only inferior but incorrect. That is quite the assumption. Let's look back many decades, shall we? At one point in time, desegregation was not tolerated. What a shame it would be to look back on this time, many decades from now, and realize how bigoted some were. "There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies."-

Good for Elkins High School. This is a good thing. Ignore the bigots. Must be related to the Westboro Baptist church people. We'll leave it to the ultimate judge to say what is wrong or right, not them. We are ALL God's children and he loves us all. I hope that this club does help with the bullying problem.

Yeah just don't start a club for christians to meet on school property, eh??? But yet they'll allow sinful *********** eh?? Promoting sex in schools...don't individuals get arrested for such things? Yet school personnel can endorse it and it's okay now?? I am not surprised at the response of this. WV makes me proud that they refuse to accept or endorse this. Just ask a politician here and you'll see him/her speechless. They know we won't tolerate it NOR anyone seeking election here that would endorse such corrupteness in our schools.

Sodomy is called such because it's immoral and an abomination and is called 'sodomy' because God destroyed Sodom and Gommorah over such abominable sexual perversion. Sickening and disgusting and never tolerated by christians nor God!

This is dispicable to have such an immoral, disgusting club such as this. THIS is nothing but a club to endorse an immoral lifestyle onto our children. I will NEVER be 'tolerant' of IMMORALITY whether the radicals on the left and the radical editor of the Intermountain likes it or not. NO christian will ever tolerate such behavior NOR accept it or teach our own children that it's accepted. God calls it an ABOMINATION and that is that. THere's nothing to discuss. Get over it. Radical immorals on the left think just because they want immoral deeds to be accepted that people will accept it. Well they found out it doesn't work that way. The 'intolerant' ones are those doing the deceiving and lying about what this is truly all about and it's not about 'bullying.' Bullying is just the 'thing' they pulled out of their hat of tricks to deceive you into thinking they aren't 'promoting' devious sexual behaviors onto your children. I told you COMMON CORE was COMMON TRASH. Propaganda for radicals

Wow, a commentary in the IM that I actually agree with. Doesn't happen everyday. I am proud of Elkins High School for having a Gay Straight Alliance. It is proof that we continue to evolve ethically as humans.

By your standard, Puremagix, the AfterShock club at EHS shouldn't be there either...they are apparently a devotional club that prays. The Card club should also be disbanded...playing cards has nothing to do with a high school education. The Duct Tape Club is out too. What on earth does duct tape have to do with an education? Out goes the Celtic Arts club, Minecraft, Cooking, NCYC, Responsible Weight Loss Club, SADD/RAZE and the Recycling Club. You, Sir, are a moron.

Thank you Puremagix for illustrating exactly why our schools DO need clubs like this - anything we can to curb ignorance from people like yourself. I didn't realize God gave you special permission to judge
