The answer is easy Matthew 24:40. Although the Bible says that the homosexual life style is wrong it does not give us the right to judge.

I can not think of one occupation were there are not gays. I understand the religious objections to gays but that is not for us to judge. I was in a school where there were gay students, teachers, administrators, coaches and gay guidance counselors. We were all able to respect each other and work well together. The gays were not angry at us for being different from them and we were not angry at them for being who they were. When dealing with difficult issues like these I always think "What would Jesus do" Gay people have always been part of society even though they seem to strike fear in some people. I hear comments about how it was in the past but there have been writings about gays as far back as Alexander the Great so they have always been part of society. Compassion is what we need not the old slave days thinking that those who are in the majority can treat the minority anyway the want. Remember that the way you treat the least you treat me.

Curbing angry calls from parents. Parents, if you were not aware, your children may or may not be in class with some gay kids. Now you know. Don't flip out or anything. I'm sure you probably went to school with some gays, too.

I think the Gay Straight Alliance is awesome! Most high schools and colleges in the USA have a place where you can not be judged by your sexual preference or who you are. Mr. Tyre wouldn't care if a new Chess Club started at EHS so why does he have to know about GSA? I recommend that he attend the next meeting so he can know what it is all about instead of reacting in a negative way. I commend all members of GSA for having the courage to stand up for a message of tolerance and cooperation.
