Country going down dark path

November 23, 2013

With Obamacare turning out to be a farce and not being able to even get on the website here in West Virginia, how do they expect everyone to be signed up by the deadline? What gets me the most is i......

Walker, your jealousy is showing.

Being envious of others hard work and rewards for their hard work shows your mentality. Childishness and laziness rolled into one.

If you're so unhappy with your status; work harder!

Now TS, I suppose you believe that the public works programs of the 30s that put thousands of West Virginians back to work qualifies as a progressive, socialist, democrat plan. If so, you would be right - but history has shown it was far from a "dark path" as you call it. By contrast, imagine the joy of being a laborer at close to slave wage during the days of the robber barons. Company stores with their own fake currency, lumber camps that were little more than itinerant shanties, the list goes on. Tell me - aside from Henry Gassaway Davis and his family, who benefited from his "trickle down" economic plan? Look around our city and see what is left of capitalism in action. And by the way, don't insult your neighbors by suggesting that if they aren't working they're too lazy to work. The jobs aren't there. Sure there are abusers of the system, but none more sinister than the abusers at the top end of the economic ladder who lobby for laws that favor their co

Before I remove myself from your august company (reducing readership of this blog to two...) I am interested to know if you were educated at a public school. If so, you were a full participant in a socialist program (in body at least...). If you did not attend a public school, well, that explains a lot... Like so many, you overestimate your ability to succeed by your work alone. A lot has been handed to you, and almost all of it was a social endeavor, from public schools, public roads, to 911 police, fire, and even if you refused those and dragged yourself to the ER, chances are the nurse who greeted you got her degree from a public institution. Face this, that even your own bootstraps were made by somebody.

Pm, since you seem to have written your own Bible and are convinced of your rightness on every issue, then I am sure you must be correct and the rest of the world is mistaken. Thank you for setting the world straight about God, Jesus, Obama, capitalism, socialism, communism, homosexuality, economics, politics, education, liberalism, patriotism, conservatism, laziness, entitlements, healthcare, and everything else not yet invented but which you are also expert. Only a razor-sharp intellect could have cracked the code to every problem of man and distilled it into one simple formula: Why think?

If Walker could 'comprehend' what he reads, he'd know that Jesus telling the man to sell all he had and give to the poor wasn't talking about ALL wealthy folks. He was talking about that to that specific man because the man's wealth was NOT blessings from hard work and God; the mans' wealth was from "ill-gotten" gains. Know what that is Walker? Of course not! It's 'stealing' from others; not earning and working for it. Being wealthy is a blessing from God....UNLESS like Obama and the radicals on the left....you're stealing it. Just like the left thinking they can take from us to give to themselves because they're so "envious" of others. Christ talks about not being 'greedy, or envious' of others too. And the left is so greedy and envious of others they think they are 'entitled' to what we have. Grow up. You fool yourself. No one is fooled by the left's 'version' of God. You're quite confused. The God you speak of doesn't exist. God hates Socialism/communism AND laz

God even tells us NOT to help or feed those too lazy to work. Of course liberals hate to admit that and just keep twisting God's word, hoping real christians will believe satans' lies. We know better Walker. You're not in a good position with God when you lie about Him. God is not a socialist; never was; and states how he hates the godless nations that worship their little worthless idols and not Him. Read Revelations and Isaiah to find out what He will do to those folks that ignore Him and lie about Him.

Walker, you're absolutely 'clueless' about Christ and His teachings. You fool yourself, not real christians. Keep deceiving yourself. God hates Socialism/communism. It's a godless entity. Or don't you understand the Bible at all? God hated Esau. Try researching Esau. Rus...RUSSIA---Communistic, godless nation. That's not to say there's no christians in that nation---there are and they pay a dear price for being one, especially if caught by the godless leaders. You, like most lefties like to think homosexuality and other immoralities are okay; they are not and never will be. You can spread your lies about God and His word; but only fools believe you. Most real christians actually 'read' His word and KNOW the truth. The truth will set you free.....and christians have no trouble spotting 'fakes!' And you might want to read what God does to those who 'lie' about what He said or didn't say. False prophets; putting words in God's mouth is not a wise thing to do. Enjoy your trip!

One more thing - I know you don't like hearing it, but Jesus WAS a flaming liberal and a socialist. He wouldn't have accepted labels at all, of course, but by everything he taught and lived, he exemplified the best of liberalism, and the best of socialism. The tenants of capitalism are in direct conflict with everything Jesus lived and preached. He said "sell everything you have and give it to the poor." He didn't say, "amass as much wealth as you can and trickle down." He said "Love your neighbor" not "screw them over." He said, ""You have heard it said and eye for and eye, but I say to you do not resist one who is evil.. Not exactly the prescription for success on Wall street. Now, either we believe in capitalism or we believe in Christianity, but we can't embrace both. His harshest words were reserved for those who took advantage of others, & his kindest words in support of the poorest among us: whom you call "lazy bum

(cont.) Let's assume I believe govt. has a responsibility to take care of me, especially when I try risky schemes. What would you think of me? Truth is, the person I just described is not me - nothing like me - but rather a sizable number of CEOs (and yes, largely Republican) who have built or inherited companies rich enough to buy off a weak and dysfunctional government system (of both parties) and put in place laws that favor their own bank accounts - who take billions in corporate handouts, tax breaks, and no-bid contracts, offshore loopholes, and finally, demand bailouts because they are "too big to fail" job creators. Your anger is misplaced, I'm afraid. The one you should most fear is the very one you work so hard to defend - they are not patriots - they are criminals, and capitalism in its present form is the tool of their trade. Guys like me - we work hard - very hard - pay plenty in taxes, play by the rules, and who care about our gvt. enough to expect better of

Now to your other sweeping generalizations (PM and TS) - You both amuse me to no end. You assume I am a "taker" (a parasite, you say?) who enjoys the benefits of capitalism while railing against it. You assume every Dem is a liar and every Republican a patriot. Those are a LOT of assumptions, and if your socialist tax-payer public education taught you anything at all it should have been never to ASS-ume anything. Truth is, you have no idea about what I do in my profession, how hard I have worked, what it has produced, how many jobs I have created. To patently accuse someone of being "a lazy bum" simply because they don't agree with your political point of view take some brass, don't you think? But for the sake of argument, let's ASS-ume I work only 5 hours a week and spend the rest of my time on the golf course. Let's assume I enjoy taking from the US government and do it every chance I get. Let's assume I believe government has a responsibility to take car

I love it, Puremagix assuming that first century Palestine shared our understanding of the political right and left... I really hope you were joking when you made that comment... please... As for how much I know about the Bible and Jesus, we wont' go there... you have no idea where I studied, my profession, or my theological perspective. I DO know for a fact that scammers and white collar criminals are both red and blue, left and right, BUT let's be honest - the laws allowing for white collar crime are disproportionately associated with the affluent, which falls more Republican than Democratic party, but crooks abound in both parties... You are the first I have ever heard say that white collar criminals are really democrats burlesquing as republicans. That is one big stretch of the imagination, even for you. Care to try and back that one up? :)

Walker is one of the lazy bums who believe dems will not force them to work and earn their own way. LOL. Can you believe anyone still dumb enough to believe that lie??? Yep; they're out there. Walker just proved it.

If you expect the same democrat party that got us here to wake up, you don't understand that this was their entire 'goal.' Destroying our free nation, taking over as themselves our dictator was their goal. So far, they've succeeded in getting lazy voters to believe the lie that dictators 'take care' of their people very nicely. Unbelievable that there could actually be anyone left now that would continue believing the bold-faced lies of this entire party of democrats. ALL dems voted for this; not one Republican voted for it. SHouldn't be hard to see which ones to vote for next election. Even some dems see that writing on the wall and are leaving the democrat destructive party of taxing and lying thieves.

Oh, and by the way, to Puremagix - Jesus was a flaming liberal and a rank socialist to boot. Everything he taught and lived was about the responsibility we all have to each other for the common good. Jesus Christ would have abhorred capitalism and in fact did the only violent act ever recorded by Jesus in angrily overturning the money changers' tables in the temple, decrying crooked scheme of making money by preying on the faithful. If that isn't Wall Street in microcosm I don't know what is. All have responsibilities, but the vast majority of the people hurt by capitalism and the GOP are not freeloaders, but those who for no fault of their own aren't at the top of the chain of supply and demand. School teachers, for example, or social workers, etc. - should they be punished by the very cold-hearted policies that simultaneously make billionaires out of weapons manufacturers who choose instead to blow people's faces off for profit? The system is rigged and Jesus des***** it.

I'll say two things - The problem isn't the liberal policies regarding healthcare, business, or anything else. It is ultra-conservative Wall Street's takeover of government, which allows for the kind of robber-baron mentality unseen in our country's history. While everyone bashes Obama, the 1% has succeeded in this country's most massive transfer of wealth ever, leaving 99% of the rest of us to scramble for little more than half of the nation's wealth. If there are criminals at work, it is in Wall Street with the compliance of our government - Republicans and Dems alike. This was engineered by the Koch brothers and co., and was fueled by staunch Republicans and Teabaggers from sea to shining sea. 2) The for-profit only "exchange" was not Obama's idea, but Republicans. Remember Obama wanted a public option - the ONE thing that would have kept the crooks in the health care industry somewhat honest. If you don't like Obamacare, it is very likely because the GOP killed it
