Insurance changes offer few choices

February 8, 2014

Around 1990, I took out personal insurance, which included the coverage for a pre-existing condition. This was possible thanks to the first President Bush and Congress....

Democrats never wanted you to have a CHOICE. Oh they only claim and scream "choice" if it's an abortion issue.... otherwise the ONLY choice with your health will be the health killing overpriced forced Obamacare through GOVT medicare. Now do as we say or we'll let you stay sick. Dems 'new' control feature.... Obamacare.

Harry Reid just made the comment that those who claim they lost their coverage after Obamacare, and those who claim their coverage isn't as good as what they had, are all liars. Isn't that interesting. He even called the ones who were being treated for cancer liars when they complained their Obamacare wouldn't cover the cost of further treatment, even though there's supposed to be a law that kicked in this year, preventing insurance companies from denying you coverage for a pre-existing condition. Oh, well, just one more lie to add to the heap. This is why I flatly refuse to sign up for Obamacare under any circumstances. I have insurance and I intend to keep it. Let Harry Reid sign up for Obamacare. Oh, wait, he doesn't have to, him and his communist buddied on the Hill are exempt. How novel. I thought this was such a good idea. Maybe they could lead by example? Don't hold your breath.

I wish they would stop calling it affordable healthcare. The massive debt it will cause is far more than anyone can stand given the debt we have right now. We are already spending more than we produce, which puts us in the negative numbers by over a trillion dollars, and remember, we still have the same idiot in the White House that created this mess, and he's not about to stop spending until he causes the entire country to collapse. Obama knows exactly what he's doing. It was his goal from the start to bring America to her knees.

Right now, there are more than 56,000 doctors who did away with taking any sort of coverage from Medicare or private insurance. You get a better price because it is self-pay. The reason they did this is because their paperwork load increased by more than 30% after Obamacare came online. They would have had to hire at least 5 more people just to take care of the paperwork.

They said enough is enough, so now we have all these people with medical coverage and the doctors are going the way of self-pay, and I don't blame them. Why work yourself and your staff to death trying to herd 40 people a day through your office just to make ends meet. The doctors suffer, the staff suffers, and their patients get substandard treatment because of the herd mentality of today's doctor's offices. I don't want a doctor who looks down your throat, sticks a finger in your butt and send you on the your way because he doesn't have time to talk to you. I want a doctor who explains what he's doing and why.

Voters: You reap what you sow. If not for ones who knew and did not vote for this ignorant leader having to 'pay' for this dreadful mistake...I'd say good....let those who voted for this 'suffer the consequences' but unfortunately those fools caused the rest of us to pay for their stupidity also. I just hope those fools suffer more than the intelligent ones who tried to 'warn the others' but they stubbornly refused to listen to common sense.

Major, God help us when these people are old enough to take over this country. We are swiftly heading into a 3rd world status. By the end of Obama's term, our economy will be in the tank, and we'll have more people starving than most African nations.

My wife and I have been down this road. Our insurance, the same as yours, paid over $300,000 on the bills, which left us with close to $30,000 that we must pay. Blue Cross and Blue Shield has been great. Our deductible was higher than yours, but I'd hate to think what would have happened if hadn't been insured. None of like having bills hanging over our heads, but there's only so much we can do.

I don't know how old you are, but here's my advise. Set up payments and pay what you can. We will probably not live long enough to pay ours, so they'll just have to make due with what they get. I figure it this way, they already got over $300,000 drom the insurance company, and given their inflated price of treatment, they won't lose a dime. Our first mistake is believing anything Obama says. He's been proven to be a habitual liar. God Bless!
