Reader ‘ridiculed’ by local politicians?

February 8, 2014

I believe a correlation exists between large-scale failures causing the water crises in the Charleston area harming more than 300,000 people and the small-scale failures of Philippi officials who......

As stated earlier, all permits for building structures have been obtained legally. I wouldn't mention a hunk of junk, rotten tires, or a rotting building because there are none present on that side of the street. As far as the gnome, it is a cute decoration; however, the obscene gestures the owner sees almost daily are appalling.

And the NeighborhoodMember didn't mention the old rattletrap hunk of junk parked in the road, a rotting building on city property, a porch on city property, and old rotten tires propped up against the roten building and not to mention a gnome on the porch with his butt hanging out and pointing right at the neighbor. Yep, two sides to every story.......

quoting topgun: Let's see, not too long enough scientist showed where we had an asteroid pass closely to earth, Japan had a Tsunami, we've had several earthquakes over the last few years and comets are not too rare these days either, and we had Mt. St. Helen's. Even though it didn't turn the lights out for everyone, it was quite a spectacle, and with the government filling our atmosphere with chemicals in order to control the weather, the sky is actually falling, we've seen it. I must not be too far off topic. Maybe it's you instead of me?

And i'll bet topgun you blame all of this on left wing radicals.

I love it when people like Joe start in on coal and conserving energy. For one, people like Al Gore laughs all the way to the bank while these sadly misinformed people play their silly game. I guess they don't realize you can't conserve energy, since it is impossible to store AC electric and heat. Anything that's heated starts to cool when you remove the heat source, and alternating current is impossible to store. It's like trying to catch lightning in a quart jar. Can't be done. And yes, there is such a thing as clean coal. When coal is crushed into fine particles and injected into a furnace in a high oxygen environment, it burns very clean, and what little is left over can be eliminated by the scrubbers on the towers. As for the fly ash that's created, we've been using it for decades in the process of purifying water. Ask the Elkins water department. They use it all the time. It's a heck of a lot safer than the Fluoride you've been ingesting most of your life.

Who's in charge in Charleston? Pardon me, but isn't it the Democrats? Apparently the Democrats aren't intelligent enough to realize every time they make abrasive comments about who allowed the people in and below Charleston to be poisoned, it's their fault. They've had control of this state for most of its history, so when they start bashing about incidents like this, they are pointing fingers at their people. If I were a Democrat, I'd be darn careful about pointing fingers and bashing the state government. WV is a fine example of how Democrats run things, and its been that way for more than a hundred years. Fine example there Joe.

Take a drive down Carter Avenue to see two single-wide mobile homes situated on a lot smaller than the lot of the owner’s double-wide. You will see barricaded driveways, lights which have been used to shine directly into the windows of the owner’s home, several Private Property/No Trespassing signs, a rusty wheelbarrow and an old tire leaning up against the split rail fence. Notice the numerous cameras positioned throughout the yard. These cameras have been used to videotape the owner’s activities. There is another side of the story.

This article proves the motto of the leftists: NEVER EVER waste a crisis. This only came out AFTER the water problem with EPA forced chemical; and it's even 'mentioned' FIRST in the article.

Yep: never waste a crisis. SOmeone's trying to take 'advantage' of this chemical from EPA in the water episode and run with it for personal gain. NOT WORKING!

When lies is all you have to attempt to win elections....eventually those lies will destroy you.

Thus, the democrat party is experiencing LOW approval ratings; Obama is staying away from dems up for relection as the last one he endorsed in San Diego California LOST and LOST by a landslide!

Yep; TRUTH eventually comes out. The liars always get their just rewards. It's happening now.

Lies NEVER work!

Truths can be checked: ? At city hall, no waivers/permits found for permanent structures (double-wide mobile home) installed on too-small lot & porch added on public land not 34 yrs. ago but 2 yrs. ago (see 2/26/13 Elkins Intermountain). ?Survey pins mark 45 ft. right-of-way. ?Truck owner crowded himself forward & was driving truck through neighbor’s yard, so City issued permit (with fence location specified), on file at city hall, to complaining neighbor & City wanted to call everything equal-- but a split-rail fence doesn’t stop other nuisances. ?Victim neighbors are violating absolutely no codes (ask City) &, laying no claim to public land they’ve maintained on their side for over 30 years, are willing to have the City reclaim it as necessary for public’s greater good. If truck owner stops all of his nuisances & takes his porch & storage building off public land, victims are quite willing to pull down that little fence!

On second thought the verb age smelled like bilge water. Keep your hanky and carry a sponge to wipe your potty mouth. When you run for mayor you'll kiss babies with it.

Oh the UNintelligence of the left! Good job Moose...showing everyone the education level and maturity level of the liberals. You're doing a fine job helping conservatives. Keep spouting the trash and low level speech; it sure does help.... "our" cause! LOL.

Thank you Neighborhoodmember for the "other side" of the story! We more fair-sided folks always know there's 2 sides to every story.

I don't doubt this person who is WORKING and SUPPORTING his family is being agitated by liberals. It's what they live for.

And also why they aren't getting what they want; to destroy hardworking folks and make them as miserable people as the left already are.

Seems the liberals are those sort of folks that are so miserable with their own pathetic lives (due to themselves & poor decisions) that they want to make everyone else miserable too. They can't stand happy working people.

Ah, I figured as much. Now the truth comes out. It would appear that we have the classic case of a neighborhood busybody throwing stones at someone else for code violations, when their fence is on city property. She just happened to mention that she was in violation of city codes by having her fence on city property, and that she was the one who was hampering mail service. Thank you for clearing this up.

The owner being referred to has lived in the neighborhood for 35 years. He has legally obtained permits for all building structures. US Postal Service instructed the two women to remove their fence(located on the city) to allow the mail carrier to pull in behind the mailbox; however, these women wanted the mail carrier to turn in the yard in which the truck owner has maintained for 35 years. Readers, you are only getting one side of the story. You would not believe all the owner has endured the past two years.

IT's time to come in out of the rain over the climate change myth. Those who research it need to get out of the habit of searching "Climate Change" and start searching for Climate Engineering, or Geo Engineering. Then you can get into the meat of the problem of misinformation and lies surrounding it. You can even debunk the lies that the government has not been creating chem trails and how they are filling the atmosphere with chemicals to try to control the weather. By all means, don't take my word for it. Once scientist that was coming out exposing the lie was found dead in a swamp. It all a lie, all of it.
