Dave, Truth's comments were not accusations, only legitimate questions that were asked long before Truth asked them. As citizens, we have the right to question anything we feel is not above board. Why shouldn't someone check into the rainy day fund? Here we are wanting to create a completely new fund, and for some off reason, no one wants to touch the money stashed away in the original one? Doesn't that seem odd to you? Just exactly what are they saving it for, if not to fix out infrastructure? I want to know myself why it isn't being used? Perhaps because it isn't there?

DaveRao... She's not credible. More liberal BIAS!

In case you wonder WHY I refer to you as 'she' is because apparently YOU cannot read as SEVERAL times I've told you over and over I am NOT a HE; I am a she. So I will give you the same respect you give me.

WHY don't liberals 'respect' women? Is this another democrat war on women?

TopGun:

I'd say the Governor and Manchin NEED that Rainy Day Fund to FUND their covering up of their sad, pathetic years of destruction thus far in office so they can attempt to get 're-elected' again. After all... it IS an election year again!

Someone should do some checking into that rainy day fund and make sure THAT hasn't dissapeared as well as the FOUR MILLION from Walt Helmicks reign as Agriculture commissioner.

The SILENCE of the liberal media, (THIS paper included!) is DEAFENING! Where's the REAL INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISTS? Campaigning for dems apparently; as they don't seem interested in finding out where $4 MILLION went either!!!

Is this how our dear Manchin got his "infrastructure bank" like Obama wants also...deceitfully hidden behind a different name to fool the masses again?

We have already been paying taxes that are to be used for fixing our roads. But dems keep insisting they need money for road repairs! Just another way to tax people AGAIN!

Where's the 4 MILLION that disappeared under Walt Helmick, the Agriculture commissioner in previous administration???????????????? ANYONE LOOKING INTO THIS?

And Governor...don't we have an 'excess' in the Rainy Day Fund to fix roads? OR is that a lie also? AUDITS; AUDITS; AUDITS!!! Yeah, dems hate AUDITS!

Someone should be 'proving' that that Rainy Day FUnd really exists not in the figment of these leaders 'imagination' but for real!

We have a "Rainy Day Fund", which the state seems reluctant to dig into, and now they want a "Future Fund." Wouldn't you call all of the roads in WV falling apart reason to dip into the "Rainy Day Fund?" Wasn't this fund created for just that purpose? Now, they are wanting to create a completely new fund?

I'm beginning to smell a rat? I'm beginning to get suspicious that the money in the Rainy Day Fund has mysteriously disappeared and this is their way of hiding it. If that's not the case, and given the condition of our highways, just exactly what is this money for? I can't think of a more worthy cause to use it for, so why is the state skating around using some of it to fix our roads?

I notice when democrats give themselves a big pay raise, it's a LOT more and they do NOT wait and do it in increments over 2 or 3 years.

Heck, the inflation will raise more than that in one year. lol.

Democrats are NOT the party of the people; they are the party of BIG CORP; BIG GOVT.

Well on another note; The State Senate passed an increase for the minimum wage Friday afternoon. The raises will take place over the next three years.

The House originally proposed a 75-cent raise for the next two years, but a Senate committee changed the bill on Wednesday, so that the increase is more gradual. The total $1.50 raise will come 25-cents next year, 50-cents the next, and 75-cents the final year.

LOL. So enjoy that 25cent raise next year....

Even dems don't want to do this but only doing it now because there's an election this year. Notice how they LESSENED it? hypocrites!

Well another WV STATE GOVT worker at Dept of Highways equipment division in Buckhannon has been arrested by FBI this morning!

More arrests may be forthcoming also!

A month after a supervisor with the Division of Highways was arrested, 5 News has confirmed that another DOH worker was handcuffed Friday morning. Matthew Tuttle has been arrested. We don't know why yet, or if it's connection to supervisor Barry Thompson's legal troubles. Thompson is accused of making a false statement to an FBI agent involving a federal investigation into the equipment division of the DOH. Always the GOVT! No surprise here. And Obama/dems want private business destroyed and GOVT taking over those too. Coruption rampant in ALL govts everywhere.

Maybe this is because of the Democrats budget plan for 2015 being MORE than they actually have. Dems: STOP spending more than you have. CUT SPENDING!!

The West Virginia Senate has passed a budget bill that dips into the state's reserve funds by $125 million to balance the 2015 budget.

And they say if they do not RAISE TAXES by next year... then they will be using more of the rainy day fund.

If you vote these dems back into office... expect higher taxes. It's the ONLY answer democrats seem to have for any problem. God forbid they should 'consider' CUTTING spending like we have to do!

How about using that fund to FIX THE ROADS?????

Yeah on PAPER sounds good. But democrats will WASTE it or an agency like the one Dem Helmick ran (agriculture dept) will do something with it that ONLY an audit will find AFTER he leaves office!

We STILL have NO idea where 4 million dollars went. What say you democrats?? Anyone actually 'looking' into it? Think WV voters have forgotten? Think again!
