I hope everyone realizes what's going on with this law. To put it bluntly, the state DEP was not doing their job. They didn't inspect the tanks as they should have been, and it is mainly their fault that the spill in Charleston happened. Now, they are up everyone's ass trying to make up for their stupidity, and they are making everyone pay because of it. When this is all said and done, the state DEP will have driven many solid companies out of business because they will never be able to comply with their new laws.

Just how stupid was the city of Charleston for allowing chemical storage tanks to be installed ABOVE their water intake? That took some real brains, or bribes, one or the others. Why did the EPA allow them to use untested chemical, none of which had environmental impact studies done on them. These clowns don't even know how long the residue will stay in the water system, or its affects on public health. Oh yeah, they play, we pay. That's how it works.
