Festivities began Sept. 28 with a picnic at the North Buckhannon Riverfront Park located at the end of Cleveland Avenue, with 77 classmates, spouses and guests attending. Members of other classes were also invited.
On Sept. 29 classmates gathered on the steps of West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Wesley Chapel for a group photograph, and then proceeded to the Social Hall in Benedum Campus Center for dinner.
Master of ceremonies Jim Warner welcomed everyone, and had classmates stand and identify themselves and those in their party.
Jerry Gass gave the invocation.
Following dinner, Bob and Ellnora Withers conducted a memorial service for the 38 deceased classmates, with Ellnora reading the names as Bob lighted a candle for each. The deceased classmates are Sue Shomo, Marcella Kasten, Rosemary Westfall, Harold Forinash, Charles Grubb, Johnnie Jay Allman, Donald LaMar Bond, Norma Josephine Linger, Richard D. Paugh, Nathan Rexroad Jr., Joseph F. Bailey, William Russell Helmick, Donald Eugene Gibson, Robert Lee Mearns, Arlene Rice, Joyce Louise Cutright Crites, Gloria Rae Hamner, Betty Lee Martin Johnson, Mason L. Loretta Lawson Thompson gave a reading, comparing the 1952 generation to the now generation, touching on things such as dress, discipline, cost of living, safety, conveniences, etc. Harold Berthy entertained the group with events, happenings and highlights from the year 1952. He also aired music from the 1950s throughout the evening.
A short business meeting closed out the evening. It was decided to continue with the annual class picnic, and to have a full reunion (60th) in 2012. They also agreed to continue the monthly luncheon on the second Wednesday of each month.
There were a total of 92 attending the dinner, including 60 members of the class.

The reunion closed out on Sept. 30, with a brunch in the social hall. There were 48 people in attendance. To wind things up, Warner asked for a round of applause for the organization and hard work of committee chairperson Ina Maye Bean.
