Registration Begins for Pedal For a Cure Fundraising Event

    The American Cancer Society’s Randolph County Chapter of Relay for Life will conduct a fundraising event along the Allegheny Highlands Trail beginning at 9 a.m. June 14.


    The cost to register for the event, Pedal for a Cure, is a $20 donation, which is tax deductible.


    Each registered donor will receive an official Pedal For a Cure T-shirt, drinks and a light snack and lunch. T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.


    The ride will begin at Highland Park in Elkins and will continue north through Gilman, Kerens, Montrose and Porterwood before taking a break in Parsons where lunch will be served. 


    Riders will then turn around and head south back to the beginning of the trail in Elkins. Participants do not have to complete the entire 42-mile round trip.


    The road crosses the trail in all of the towns listed, so these are easy points to stop at and have someone to pick you up, an official said.
