Seneca Center to Host Quilting Bee
POSTED: June 14, 2008
An old-fashioned quilting bee will take place under the trees at the Sites Homestead grounds of Seneca Rocks Discovery Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 21.
Quilters will be stitching on a nine-patch pattern quilt using an heirloom quilting frame. This was a popular way for pioneer women to socialize in the 1800s while getting practical tasks accomplished, an official said.
No experience is required and all are welcome. Music and refreshments will be “stitched” into the fun afternoon.
