The West Virginia Wood Technology Center has named Matt Wyatt as the center's new training coordinator.
"Matt's background and credentials are perfect for the WTC," said Randolph County Development Authority Executive Director Jen Giovannitti. "We are so pleased to welcome him to our staff."
Wyatt began his career with Mongold Lumber Co. in 1988. He was inspired by the lumber company community and became a certified moulder and grinding machine technician through Michael Weinig Training Institute of Statesville, N.C.
After 12 years with Mongold, he accepted a position as a quality assurance manager with Colonial Millwork LTD of Beverly where he helped build a quality control program from the ground up.
Before accepting the position with the Wood Technology Center, Wyatt spent the last four years as a plant manager for Wilson Quality Millwork.
"I have always been inspired by the training facility at the West Virginia Wood Technology Center and their enthusiastic involvement with the community,"?Wyatt said. "Early in my career, I received a lot of my CAD training at the WTC, so I understand how valuable their services are. I look forward to working with their great staff and assisting wood industry companies so we can help keep families in West Virginia."
Wyatt started as training coordinator on June 3. He may be reached at 637-7500.
