September 25, 2008
The Inter-Mountain

The annual reunion of the descendants of Charles and Charlotte Richman Auvil was at the New Beginnings Church on Sept. 14 with approximately 37 family and friends attending.

After the blessing, there was a covered-dish dinner and entertainment by Nancy Sue Hatfield, Tina Strahn and John Richman. The Auvil family made a donation to the church for allowing the reunion to take place in the fellowship hall.

Dianna Cline gave the financial report. Tina Strahn and April distributed the door prizes, which were won by Macel Auvil, John Thorn, Thelma Spear and Logan Edge. A silent auction was conducted.

Alton and Patty Auvil from Aurora attended and gave family and friends an opportunity to look at and discuss the books of Auvil ancestry they have collected. They also donated a framed picture of the Auvil family and two unframed pictures, which were auctioned.

Recognized were: oldest man, Arthur "Shady" Marsh; oldest woman, Thelma Spear; youngest child, Isabella Edge; person traveling the farthest, Alton and Patty Auvil from Aurora; married the longest, Arthur and Rose Marsh; and most recently married. John and Heather Poling. Cards were signed and sent to Maxine Ford, Pearl Young and Violet Gribble.

There were no changes recommended in the reunion committee which includes Danielle Rush, Lois Adams, Dotty Freeman, John Edge, Amy Thorn and Dianna Cline. John Edge continues to be the music coordinator.

The next reunion will be on the second Sunday in September 2009 at 1 p.m. at New Beginnings Church.
