Reigning American Idol winner David Cook will rock Harper-McNeeley Auditorium at Davis & Elkins College on March 14.

Tickets for the show go on sale to the general public Tuesday for $20 each. Students, faculty and D&E staff will have the opportunity to purchase tickets, with a limit of two tickets per person, on Monday for a discounted rate of $10 per seat. Tickets may be purchased at the D&E Student Life Office in Jennings-Randolph Hall or online at MusicToday.com. Credit card sales are only available online.

The stop at D&E is part of Cook's "The Declaration Tour - 2009," to support his debut album, "David Cook," which entered the Billboard Charts at No. 3 and features his hit, "Light On." Cook will take the stage in D&E's Harper-McNeeley Auditorium at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m.

The Davis & Elkins College Campus Activities Board worked to bring Cook to the area. Dean of Students Scott Goddard said Cook's team has been great to work with and is excited about welcoming such a high profile singer.

"I'm really happy with the commitment David Cook is making to college audiences," Goddard said. "We are extremely pleased to be presenting his talent to the West Virginia Highlands and I'm really looking forward to a great event on the D&E campus. We have a fantastic team of students who are working to make this successful, and we know the community is already excited and looking forward to Cook's March 14 concert here."

Cook's first single, "The Time of My Life" recently went platinum, with more than 1 million tracks sold. "The Time of My Life" is not only the biggest single debut but the highest selling coronation single in the show's history. Cook is the 34th "American Idol" contestant to appear on a Billboard chart.

"I'm more than excited to hop on the road and support this record," said Cook. "This tour represents both a new beginning and a return to form for me. It's our first full tour, and we're all ready to pour whatever blood, sweat and tears that we can muster into making this show, and every show from here on out, an experience."

For more information about this event, call the D&E College Office of Student Life at 304- 637-1291.
