Amber Nicole Kiess and James W. McCloud III were married on Sept. 27 at Hart Chapel Church on Chenoweth Creek Road. Pastor David Collins and Pastor Bruce Hamrick, cousin of the bride, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Melvin and Carla Kiess of Beverly. She is the granddaughter of Freda Kiess of Mill Creek and the late Bud Kiess and the late Clarence and Juanita Lantz.
The bridegroom is the son of Jimmie and Dee Dee McCloud of Elkins. He is the grandson of Jim and Patti McCloud of Elkins and the late Ruth McCloud and Clifford and Betty Hohman of Elkins.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless, A-line gown of Alencon lace with corded flower designs on sheer net embellished with beads, sequins and pearls. The gown flowed into a chapel-length train and was accented with a wine satin sash the length of the train.
She wore a pearl and rhinestone hair pin - borrowed from her friend, Angie Kyle Watson - with her finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of fresh ivory hydrangeas and wine calla lilies. The stems were covered with a silk handkerchief sent to her by her great-aunt Wanda Simmons of Florida.
Attending as her maid of honor was her sister, Tiffany Kiess of Morgantown. Bridesmaids were longtime friends Sara Lafayette and Ashley Wallace, college friends Miranda Funk and Amy Kisamore, and close friend Shannon Schramm. They wore wine colored, strapless, side-ruched gowns of satin with a rhinestone brooch and carried a bouquet of dried flowers and hydrangeas.
Flowergirls, Ani and Lexi Reger, cousins of the bridegroom, wore sage green satin dresses and scattered hydrangea petals.
Serving as best man was Brandon Skidmore of Elkins, cousin of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Patrick Wilfong, Shawn Kirkpatrick and Dave Simmons, all close friends of the bridegroom, Andrew McCloud, brother of the bridegroom, and Aaron Kiess, brother of the bride.
Ring bearer was Isaiah Westfall, cousin of the bridegroom.
The ceremony pianist was Danielle Jones Taylor and vocalist was Celeste Lantz, cousin of the bride, who sang "I Can Only Imagine." The scriptural reading of 1 Corinthians 1:13-18 was read by close friend Megan Metheny Jones. Cousins of the bride, Courtney Schrader and Katie Stalanaker served as program and guest book attendants.
Following the ceremony, a dinner-dance reception was hosted at the Elks Country Club. The buffet-style dinner was catered by Davis & Elkins College Dining Services and the four-tiered ivory wedding cake was made by family friend, Kathy Hamrick of Elkins.
Music for the evening was provided by Douger of Fairmont and the photographer was Loretta Lyons.
The couple traveled to Florida for their honeymoon and now reside in Elkins.
