Patricia G. Hissom

Patricia Gail "Pat" Hissom, 54, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009, at her home in Davis.

She was born June 17 1954, at Charleston, a daughter of George B. "Corky" Hissom of Charleston and the late Joan B. Hissom.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her stepmother, Lois Hissom of Charleston; and her sister, Connie and Gene Mingus, of Windsor, Ohio. Pat leaves behind her friend and companion of 14 years, Ronald G. Carr; his parents, Elwood and Rosalie Carr; and Ron's three brothers and one sister, Tom and Terry Carr, John and Janenne Carr, Scott Carr and Lisa and Mike Corbitt. Also surviving are a niece, Stephanie (Joel) Rosier of Windsor, Ohio, and SPC Matthew Mingus who is currently serving in Iraq, and several other nieces and nephews.

Pat graduated from Sissonville High School in 1972 and West Virginia University in 1978 with a degree in forestry. She was employed for 25 years at Blackwater Falls State Park as a Naturalist and Recreation Director. She attended Davis United Methodist Church.

At the request of the deceased, her remains were cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at the Davis United Methodist Church Saturday, April 4, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Martin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Tucker County Animal Shelter, 215 First St., Parsons, W.Va. 26287. Hinkle Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
