WVSF crowns junior royalty

The stage is now set for the 2009 West Virginia Strawberry Festival as junior royalty members were selected Saturday during the Junior Royalty Pageant at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
Brittany Shapiro, 12, of Buckhannon, the daughter of Deborah Shapiro was crowned Junior Royalty Queen. Shapiro is in the seventh grade at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School.
Her first maid is Eva Leigh Ann Thorne, 13, of Old Field, the daughter of Tim and Paulette Thorne. She is in the eighth grade at Moorefield Middle School.
The second maid is Chantelle Layce Leggett, 12, of Buckhannon, the daughter of Tim and Tammy Leggett. She is in the seventh grade at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School.
Ten-year-old Nathaniel Oren Friend was named the Junior King in the 10- to 11-year-old division. He is in the fourth grade at Union Elementary School and is the son of Matthew and Brenda Friend of Buckhannon.
The Junior Princess for the 10- to 11-year-old group is Autumn Paige Haught, 10, of Morgantown. She is in the fourth grade at Cheat Lake Elementary and is the daughter of Steve and Sarah Haught.
Her First Maid is Ashley Gifford, 10, of Buckhannon. Gifford is in the fourth grade at Peterson Central School and is the daughter of Jamie and Heather Gifford.
The Second Maid is Lexi Herndon, 10, of Buckhannon, the daughter of Rusty and Susie Herndon. She is in the fourth grade at Buckhannon Academy Elementary.
In the 8- to 9-year-old group, the Junior Prince is Brandon Davisson, 8, of Weston, the son of Cindi and Rodney Goldsmith. He is in the second grade at Jane Lew Elementary.
The First Page is Jerod Andrew Wood, 8, of Buckhannon, a first-grader at Union Elementary School. He is the son of Shelly Dodd and Mitch Wood.
The Junior Princess is Sadee O. Feaster, 9, of Moorefield, the daughter of Chrystal Cissel. She is in the fourth grade at Moorefield Intermediate School.
The First Maid, Kristen Rager, 9, of Elkview, is the daughter of Tony and Lisa Rager. She is in the third grade at Pinch Elementary.
The Second Maid is Tori Smallridge, 8, of Buckhannon, the daughter of Penny Cutlip and Timmy Smallridge. She is a second-grader at Washington District Elementary.
The Junior Prince in the 6- to 7-year-old group is Christopher Spotloe, 7, of Buckhannon and the son of Brandon Spotloe and Jammie Kincade. He is in second grade at Hodgesville Elementary.
The First Page is Garrett Butler, 7, of French Creek, the son of Steve and Sherri Butler. He is in first grade at French Creek Elementary.
The Second Page is 6-year-old Patrick Gregory, the son of Matt and Holly Gregory of Buckhannon. He is in the first grade at Tennerton Elementary.
The Junior Princess for the 6- to 7-year-old group is Emily Fetzer, 6, of Bridgeport, the daughter of Art and Laurie Fetzer. She is in first grade at Johnson Elementary.
Her First Maid will be Jade Demaira Kesling, 6, of Buckhannon, the daughter of Jimmie and Amber Kesling. She is in first grade at Hodgesville Elementary.
The Second Maid will be Brianna Barnette, 7, of Buckhannon, the daughter of Jon and Jennie Barnette. She is in first grade at Union Elementary.
The Junior Prince in the 4- to 5-year-old age group will be Aidan Cooper Wilson, 5 of Buckhannon, the son of Tammy and Butch Hatfield.
The First Page in the 4- to 5-year-old division will be Owen Ross Caynor, 4, the son of Theron and Brandy Caynor of Buckhannon.
The Second Page will be Joshua Gregory, 4, of Buckhannon, the son of Matt and Holly Gregory.
The Third Page will be Jesse Hackett, 4, of Buckhannon, the son of Daniel and Amy Hackett.
The Junior Princess in the 4- to 5-year-old group is Brylee Nicole Marie Knotts, 5 of Flemington the daughter of Bruce and Melissa Knotts.
Her First Maid is Madison Perrine, 5, of Buckhannon, the daughter of Haley Perrine.
The Second Maid is Candence Ringer, 4, the daughter of Joshua and Marlana Ringer of Buckhannon.
