Forest Festival chooses jesters

The Mountain State Forest Festival Association has selected four Randolph County students to serve as jesters in the royal court of Queen Silvia LXXIII.

Performing in the royal court are Ciara Neil Cooper, Brooke Sierra McCollam, Morgan Hope Daniels and Isabella Marie Nieves.

Cooper, daughter of Kelly and Erin Cooper of Beverly and Cheri Cooper of Elkins, is a seventh-grade student at Elkins Middle School. She is a student on the competition team at Cheri's Dance Studio where she has won numerous awards in jazz, hip hop and ballet.

She is a feature twirler for Cheri's Twirling All-Stars and enjoys bowling, camping, fishing, swimming and spending time with friends and family. She attends First Baptist Church in Elkins. Her future plans include pursuing a career in either nursing or as a veterinary assistant.

Cooper is the granddaughter of Sue Cooper and the late Bobby Cooper of Beverly and Katie Whittaker of Beverly. She has two siblings, Nick Cooper and Braden D. Cooper.

McCollam is a seventh-grade honor roll student at Elkins Middle School. She is the daughter of James McCollam of Elkins and Joan Miller of Elkins.

She is on the varsity cheerleading squad at Elkins Middle School and a student at Tumble Time Gymnastics. She enjoys walking dogs at the Randolph County Animal Shelter.

She hopes to help younger children pursue the honor of jester in future festivals. Additionally, she plans to attend WVU and pursue a career as a veterinarian.

McCollam is the granddaughter of John and Pam Miller of Elkins and John McCollam and Maxine McCollam of Elkins. She has three siblings, Ryan Miller and Linsey and Morgan McCollam.

Daniels, a sixth-grade honor roll student at Elkins Middle School, is the daughter of Scott and Shelly Daniels of Beverly.

She is a cheerleader at Elkins Middle School and participates in Jerry West basketball. She also competes on the Elkins Middle School Track team. A student of advanced tumbling at Center Stage, she is also a member of Mt. Vernon Colonials 4-H Club.

Daniels is the granddaughter of Carl and Janice Daniels and Mary Lewis and the late Willard Lewis of Beverly. She has one sibling, Brent Daniels.

Nieves, daughter of Juan Nieves of Clover, S.C., and Nicola Nieves of Elkins, is a seventh-grade honor roll student at Elkins Middle School.

She has been a member of the West Virginia Highland Dancers for eight years, where she has won many awards in competitions. She is a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church. She attends piano lessons and is a member of Mid-State Soccer, the Elkins Otters swim team, the Yearbook Club and Elkins Middle School choir. Her hobbies include gymnastics, listening to music and photography.

Nieves is the granddaughter of Mary Jo DeMotto of Elkins and Terry Shimbo of Elkins. She has one brother, Max Jackson.
