The Elkins High School class of 1979 celebrated its 30th class reunion the weekend of June 19-21.
The weekend started with an informal get-together on the evening of June 19 at Beander's. Former teacher Jean Jory and husband, Steve, along with former coaches/teachers, Mike Hickman, Russ Shepherd, Steve Ash and wife, Vicki, joined the group at Beander's.
On the afternoon of June 20, there was a catered picnic at Stuart Park. Prior to eating, the group conducted a memorial service for deceased class members. Later that evening, a "farm party" was hosted by Jim and Kathy (Teets) Leombruno at their camp on Files Creek Road.

Other class members joining the weekend activities, but not pictured, include J.D. and Janice (Riggleman) Blackburn, Roy Simms, Earl Maxwell, Jeanie Simmons Hammonds, Patty Simmons Harris, Jim Arbogast, Kathy Eakin, Cathy Zizzi, Jenny Trochill Sorenson, Mickey Knavenshue, John Sainato, Debby Tuning, Doug Tuning, Janie Shobe, Naida Simpson and Danny Stemple.
The weekend concluded with a breakfast hosted by Debbie (Teets) Manzo at her farm on Roney Run Road, near Gilman. Various members of other graduating classes joined the group at both Beander's and the farm party.
