Caitlyn Marie Vernon of Bridgeport has been appointed by Michael Oliverio II to be a princess in the 73rd Mountain State Forest Festival.

She is the daughter of Ron Vernon of Shinnston and Sherrie Vernon of Bridgeport. She is the granddaughter of the late Rex and Mary Tennant and Joan Vernon of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the late Robert Vernon. She has one brother, Ryan.

Vernon is a graduate of Bridgeport High School where she was a four-year member of the marching band and a two-year frontline member. She is a graduate of United Technical Center School of Practical Nursing and hopes to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing.
