Mr. and Mrs. Aldine Reed of Crystal Springs will celebrate 60 years of marriage with an anniversary party hosted by their children at Stuart Park.
The couple were married by Denver Cooper at the Philippi Church of Christ on Aug. 14, 1949.
Mrs. Reed, the former Emaloyn Booth, was born in Barbour County and is the daughter of the late Brennis and Beuna Ware Booth. She worked for Reidboard Brothers, Dari-Delite and was a manager of the HP stores. She is a homemaker.
MR. AND MRS. ALDINE REED
Mr. Reed was born in Tucker County and is the son of the late James and Cornelia Wratchford Reed. He was a corpsman in the Navy serving during World War II and the Korean War. He attended Davis & Elkins College, worked for the Western Maryland Railroad and retired from Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. with 32 years of service.
They have six children, Judy Wetzel and husband, Smoke, Anita Myers and husband, Darryl, Marsha Howell and husband, Bobby, Peggy Tingler and Penny Rennix, all of Elkins; and one son, Doug Reed and wife, Nancy, of Roanoke, Va. They also have 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
