The 46th annual Howes reunion was hosted at Indian Camp Normal in Upshur County on Aug. 3.
The reunion was opened by President Junior Howes dedicating the reunion to the Howes who passed away during the past year: Harvey Golden, Richard Tinney, Junior Howes' nephew, and Forrest Hardman.
The business meeting opened with Secretary Berta Thompson asking questions about relatives and telling about her trip to Cape Cod and Dennis, Mass., where the Howes came from.
Alfred and Katie Howes talked about Roy Howes and passed around photographs. Katie Howes is putting buttons on a flag to honor all veterans who lost their lives in war.
Junior Howes read Scripture from Psalm 53 and had prayer for Michael Kimble, Lois Howes' grandmother, Helen Lonchor, John Hoover, Dave Bellak, Karen Phipps, Jamoe Hulbut for a trip she is taking, Virginia Howes, who has cancer, and Mike, who has brain cancer. Junior Howes talked about the walk the family did to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.
Alfred and Katie Howes had the most members of their family present with six. The oldest was Domice Capocciama, who is 84; the youngest was Adriana Howes, daughter of Brock and Charlote Howes, who was 4 months and 21 days old. Traveling the farthest was Charlotte Howes. The longest married couple was Domice and Edith Capocciama. Youngest married couple was Brock and Charlotte Howes, two years. The most generations present were Curtis and Virginia Howes with four.
