Licwov acquitted on child porn charges
By BEN SIMMONS, Staff WriterA Beverly man was found innocent of child pornography charges Monday in U.S. District Court in Elkins after a jury deliberated for nearly three hours.
Vincent Licwov had been charged with one count of possessing computer disks containing images of child pornography that had been transported in interstate commerce, a felony.
Attorney Scott Curnutte, who represented Licwov in the case, said the jury's decision to return a not guilty verdict was the right choice.
"This has been a nightmare for the Licwov family," Curnutte said. "Allegations like this hang like a cloud while the case is pending, and it is difficult for the whole family. Fortunately, the jury absolved Vincent with its verdict of not guilty, and the Licwov family can see the sun shining again. I am very happy for them."
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner presented the government's case before U.S. District Judge John P. Bailey.
The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and was brought forth as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abused.

I would like to know the reasoning that the jury found the verdict they did. Not enough information pretaining to the validity of the verdict. What was the reason that this person was not held responsible for what he was charged? Just wondering.
