B-U places second, Lady Tigers third at Autumn Invitational

Tim Squires had two first place finishes to lead the Buckhannon-Upshur boys to a second place finish Saturday at the Autumn Invitational at Davis &?Elkins College.
Squires set two records by capturing the 50-yard freestyle (21:24) and 100-yard freestyle (49.08).
Tyler Tenney placed second for the Buccaneers in the 100-yard Freestyle with at time of 1:04.39. Buckhannon-Upshur also claimed two second place finishes in relay events (200-yard Freestyle and 200-yard Medley).
Elkins was led by its 400-yard Freestyle team which placed third with a time of 4:06.06. The Tigers finished seventh as a team.
The relay team is made up of Robert Hall, Bobby Channell, Aaron Tenney and Connor Gill.
Philip Barbour's Quentin Mouser placed sixth in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 1:12.17.
The Lady Tigers, who place third in the girls competition, were led by Delaney Johnson's first place finish in the 50-yard Freestyle (25.62).
Buckhannon-Upshur's Courtney Miller had two first place finishes (100-yard Freestyle 1:01.17 and 200-yard Freestyle 2:21.74) as the Lady Buccaneers placed fifth overall.
The Lady Colts were led by Casey McVicker who had a 15th place finish in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:35.03.
Elkins will host another meet on Dec. 1 starting at 4:30 p.m. Preston and North Marion will be the teams competing at the meet.
