Flute concert is Tuesday in Loar Auditorium
West Virginia Wesleyan's flute ensemble will present its fall concert Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Loar Auditorium. The performance is open to the public and admission is free.
Under the direction of Linda Wolfershiem, lecturer in music, the group includes Jessica Agnes, a music major from Burlington, Jessica Harvey, a biology major from Buckhannon, Brittany Perkins, an elementary education major from St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Lauren Thompson, a political science major from Princeton.
The performance will feature the music of Joseph Haydn, Friedrich August Kummer, Raoul Barthalay and others. The highlight of the concert will be two selections written by Jessica Agnes' father, Andy, which will be performed by Jessica on Irish flute and penny whistle and Andy Agnes on banjo and guitar.
