Wade Spencer, oldest son of the original musical family, The Spencers, will appear at the Weaver Church of the Nazarene at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Spencer began singing when he was 8 years old, playing guitar and mandolin at 11 and recorded his first album at 14. He has written and recorded numerous songs for The Spencers for many years, making more than 4,000 appearances from the East Coast to the West Coast and throughout the Caribbean Islands. He is married to Theresa and resides in Perrysville, Ohio. They have two boys, Joel, 24, and Thomas, 21.
Spencer's solo career has bound him a successful schedule of singing dates, taking him throughout the eastern and midwestern states and back to the Bahamas. He has also been a guest on the hunting show "Show Me Outdoor Adventures" on the Fox Sports channel several times. He is excited about his future, a spokesperson said. "Knowing that God is his source, he looks forward to continuing to minister through song and testimony wherever God leads."
