Petersburg woman wins $50K birthday gift
POSTED: December 4, 2009
Phyllis Laub of Petersburg claimed a $50,000 prize from the West Virginia Lottery's instant game Classic Slots Nov. 16 - the day she turned 45.
Calling it "the most extravagant birthday gift I've ever gotten," Laub said the winning ticket was the only one she bought at Petersburg's Grove Street Station.
Lottery Director John Musgrave said it was the second $50,000 prize won in the Classic Slots series of games.
He said the first one was claimed by Chrisyopher White of Cross Lanes on Oct. 28.
Laub's ticket was purchased from 7-Eleven.
Married and the mother of a grown daughter, Laub works part time at the Pepsi Cola plant and Golden Lanes Bowling Alley, both in Petersburg.
