Etta M. Martin

Etta M. Martin, 56, of Davis, passed away Dec. 11, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md. She was born Jan. 15, 1953, at Harman, a daughter of the late Robert Jean and Marjorie Frances Sluger Golightly. She is survived by her husband Doug Martin; two brothers, Robert Golightly and Bart Golightly, both of Davis; and one sister, Patricia (Dave) Moore, of Hackettstown, N.J.; godmother, Frances Shaga; and one nephew Zach Golightly. She was proceeded in death by one great-nephew, Austin Carr.

Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. She served on the Parks and Recreation Board working to establish the Davis Riverfront Park and helping to restore the Davis Community Center. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and helping others.

Services will be held at Hinkle Funeral Chapel on Monday at 10 a.m., with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
