Harman boys capture tourney title: Lady Vikings win

MT. STORM - Daylen Pennington scored 23 points to lead Harman past Union 72-31 Saturday in the Union Christmas Tournament title game.

Cody Wolford and Ethan Roy both added 12 points each for the Panthers, who led 42-20 at halftime and 54-26 after three quarters.

Cody Arbough followed with 11 points and seven steals for Harman (2-0).

Chris Donelson finished with a team-high 17 points to lead Union.

The Panthers won their first game on?Saturday over Keyser, 65-55.

Harman will travel to WVSD on Tuesday.

Petersburg 60,

Musselman 51

PETERSBURG - Lewis Andra had 25 points to lead Musselman past Petersburg 60-51 Friday in non-conference action.

Tim Potter added 13 points for Musselman, who led 30-28 at the half and 46-43 after three quarters of play.

Marcus Hahn and Josh Evans each had 12 points to lad Petersburg (0-1).

Chase Feaster followed with 11 points for the Vikings.

Petersburg will travel to Tucker County on?Dec. 22nd.

Girls Basketball

Petersburg 51,

Keyser 47

PETERSBURG - Alisha Webster had a game-high 29 points to lead Petersburg past Keyser 51-47 Saturday in PVC action.

Megan Whetzel followed with nine points and seven rebounds, while Devon Brosh chipped in with five points and nine rebounds for the Lady Vikings (3-0).

Petersburg led 23-17 at halftime, but trailed 37-34 after three quarters of play.

Elizabeth Yaider had 12 points to lead Keyser

Petersburg will host Tygarts Valley on Tuesday.

High School Swimming

WHEELING - Delaney Johnson had two first place finishes to lead Elkins to a second place finish Saturday at the at the JM Holiday Invitational.

Johnson placed first in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races.

The Lady Tigers also placed first in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Tenny DeMarco placed second for the Lady Tigers in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Sarah Schmidt had two third place finishes in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

Elizabeth Proudfoot also placed third in the 500 freestyle.

Robert Hall placed second in two events by taking top honors in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM.

Elkins' James White placed fifth in the 50 freestyle and the Tigers' 200 freestyle relay team placed fifth.

Elkins will host North Marion on Tuesday.
