WVU entertains Marquette tonight

No. 6 West Virginia will look to remain unbeaten on the season when it entertains Marquette for a Big East Conference contest tonight at the Coliseum.

Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. The contest will be televised on the Big East Network.

The Mountaineers are coming off 11-11 overtime win over Seton Hall Saturday in their league opener.

West Virginia (10-0, 1-0) is led in scoring by senior Da'Sean Butler (16.5 pp.)

Sophomore Kevin Jones is second at 15.5, while Devin Ebanks is averaging 13.2 points and a team-high nine rebounds per contest.

Ebanks was named Big East Player of the Week after his performances against Ole Miss and Seton Hall last week.

Ebanks had 22 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in the win over Seton Hall.

Wellington Smith (6.3) and John Flowers (4.8) will likely round out the starting lineup for the Mountaineers.

Sophomore Daryl "Truck" Bryant (9.7), junior Casey Mitchell (8.3) and Joe Mazzulla will be the first players of the bench for WVU.

The Golden Eagles (9-3) are coming off a 102-62 win over Presbyterian .

Marquette is led in scoring by forward Lazar Hayward (18.7). Forward Jimmy Butler (16.1) is also having a solid season.

Guard Darius Johnson-Odom (12) and Maurice Acker (8) are other notables players for the Golden Eagles.

Marquette won the lone meeting between the two schools last season, 75-53.

West Virginia will travel to No. 4 Purdue for a 2:30 p.m. contest on Friday. That game will air nationally on ESPN.

The Mountaineers will return home on?Jan. 6 for another conference contest against Rutgers.
