Pocahontas boys, girls post victories

DUNMORE - Jimmy Wiley had 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead Pocahontas County past Highland County 87-47 Monday in the Allegheny Mountain Radio tournament.

Jerry Simonin added 19 points, while Dylan Kelly chipped in with 14 points for the Warriors (2-0).

Chris Lambert and James Vaus had eight points each for Highland County.

Pocahontas County will play Bath County today at 6 p.m. for the championship.

Pendleton County 68,

East Hardy 55

FRANKLIN - Tyler Gardiner fired in 17 points to lead Pendleton County past East Hardy 68-55 Monday in Petersburg Holiday tournament

Trent Moats followed with 11 points and pulled down six rebounds, while Ryan Gillespie added 10 points and 10 caroms for the Wildcats (1-0), who led 30-28 at the half.

Derrick Orndorff finished with 13 points, while Tyler Kerr added six points for the Cougars.

East Hardy will play Moorefield in consolation game at 6 p.m.

Pendleton County will play Petersburg tonight at 8 p.m. for the championship.

Girls

Pocahontas County 77,

Highland County 21

DUNMORE - Lyndsey Barlow and Chloe Bland had 13 points each to lead Pocahontas County past Highland County 77-21 Monday night in Allegheny Mountain Radio tournament.

Bland also had eight rebounds and six steals for the Lady Warriors, who stormed out to a 53-3 lead at intermission.

Heathern Snead and Shelby Snead added 11 points apiece for PC.

Holli Simmons had 10 points to lead Highland County.

The Lady Warriors (2-1) will play Bath County tonight for the championship at 8 p.m.
