Pendleton County, Petersburg girls capture victories

PETERSBURG - Jesse Kimble had 16 points to lead Pendleton County past East Hardy 41-33 Wednesday in the Petersburg Holiday Tournament.

Allison Keplinger followed with seven points and Ginger Beatty added six points for the Lady Vikings (3-2).

Ashley Dove and Emily Beck hit for 10 points each to lead the Lady Cougars.

East Hardy will host Pocahontas County Monday.

Pendleton County will travel to Tucker County on the same day.

Petersburg 56, Moorefield 35

PETERSBURG - Alisha Webster scored 19 points and pulled down five rebounds to lead Petersburg past Moorefield 56-35 Wednesday.

Megan Whetzel and Whitney Lough added 13 points each for the Lady Vikings (5-0).

Whetzel also gathered 10 rebounds and Lough had four steals for Petersburg.

Kelsea Kight had 14 points, while Victoria Wright chipped in with nine points for the Lady Yellow Jackets.

Petersburg will travel to Pendleton County next Tuesday for a PVC matchup.

Boys

Petersburg 65,

Pendleton County 56

PETERSBURG - Josh Evans finished with 18 points to lead Petersburg past Pendleton County 65-56 Tuesday in the championship game of the Petersburg Holiday Tournament.

Ben Halterman followed with 15 points and Brandon Kivett scored 12 points for the Vikings.

Trent Moats fired in 18 points, while Ryan Gillespie followed with 14 points for Pendleton County.

Petersburg will host Pendleton County on Tuesday.
