Davis & Elkins splits with Lady Battlers; Tigers cruise

The Davis & Elkins College softball team split a pair of games with Alderson-Broaddus Tuesday in WVIAC action.

The Lady Senators (16-32) lost the first game 6-2, but won the second contest 5-4.

Mereaha Cooper notched the win for the Lady Battlers in seven innings of work. She gave up two runs on four hits, walked one and struck out six.

Brittany Meadows had two hits and a RBI to lead the Lady Battlers

at the plate.

Bridget Ours took the loss for Davis & Elkins.She gave up six runs on 14 hits.

Ours had a home run to lead the Lady Senators in the first contest.

Britne Bacca notched the win for the Lady Senators in Game 2. Kortne Bacca had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the Lady Senators in Game 2.

Kat Powell took the loss in the nightcap for the Lady Battlers.

Haley Mullen had two hits and one RBI for Alderson-Broaddus.

Davis & Elkins will travel to UPJ today for a WVIAC?matchup.

Alderson-Broaddus host Salem on Saturday for another conference matchup.

MORGANTOWN?- Spencer Webley had two hits and drove in two runs to lead Elkins past University 6-1 Tuesday in NCAC action.

Heath Broughton notched the win for the Tigers (15-3) in a complete -game effort. He gave up one run on four hits, walked two and struck out five.

Josh Davis added two-run double for the Tigers.

Elkins visits Philip Barbour today.

Pendleton takes pair

The Pendleton County High School baseball team swept Tygarts Valley Tuesday in PVC action at Robin Harvey Memorial Field.

The Wildcats won the first 12-6 and swept the nightcap 7-0.

Tyler Gardiner notched the win in Game 1 in three innings of work.

Philip Harper had three hits and drove in a run for the Wildcats.

Brandon Pritt took the loss for the Bulldogs in 5 1/3 innings.

Christian Scott had three hits and RBI to lead the Bulldogs (5-8-1).

Colin Mitchell notched the win in Game 2 in seven innings of work.

He gave up one hit, walked two and struck out eight.

Mitchell had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the Wildcats.

Jeremy Lambert took the loss for the Bulldogs in Game 2.

J.D. Brown had the lone hit for Tygarts Valley.

Pendleton County will travel to Moorefield Thursday.

Tygarts Valley host Union Friday.

Philip Barbour 7

PHILIPPI?-Bridgeport defeated Philip Barbour 13-7 Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action.

Doug Smith took the loss for the Colts (11-5) in 1 1/3 innings of work.

Trevor Mouser and Justin Kelley had two hits each for the Colts.

Philip Barbour will host Elkins tonight for a non-conference matchup starting at 4:30 p.m.

MORGANTOWN?- University defeated Elkins 14-12 Tuesday in NCAC action.

Michaela Lewis-Lambert took the loss for the Lady Tigers (11-6) in three innings of work.

Megan Nida had five hits, three runs and two RBIs, while Jill McClure added two hits and a home run for the Lady Tigers.

Elkins will host Buckhannon-Upshur today.

B-U drops pair

TENNERTON?- Buckhannon-Upshur dropped a pair of games with Fairmont Senior on Tuesday.

The Lady Polar Bears won the first game 2-0 and swept the nightcap 8-3.

Kayla Linger took the loss in Game 1.

Linger and Kansas Ledezma had the hits for B-U.

Morgan Wright took the loss in Game 2.

Linger had three hits in the second contest.

Buckhannon-Upshur will travel to Elkins today for a North Central Athletic Conference matchup at 4:30 p.m.
