Milan "Skinny" "Brownie" Vane Evans, 96, and Effie Lena Evans, 88, will celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary on July 17.
The couple were married at Red House, Maryland, on July 17, 1937, by the Rev. Alvah K. Jones.
They moved to Elkins in 1942.

Mr. Evans worked on the railroad for 32 years and three months. He retired in July of 1974.
Mrs. Evans is a housewife.
The couple has two boys, Melvin M. Evans of Henderson, North Carolina, and Milan "Smiley" Jr. Evans of Beverly. The also have four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, one of whom is deceased.
