Amanda Jean Louk Simmons, 65, a former resident of Monterville and more recently a resident of Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke City, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, Aug. 15, 2010, in the nursing home.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1945, at Monterville, a daughter to the late Edward Junior Louk and Rosa Lee Patterson.
Left to cherish her loving memories are her four children, Robert W. Pingley and wife, Angel, of Florida, Janet E. Bloomfield and husband, Robert, of Maryland, Charles L. Pingley and wife, Nicki, of North Carolina, and Loretta L. Johnson and husband, James, of Tennessee; five brothers, Troy Louk of Georgia, Donald Louk of Ohio, Jennings Louk of Michigan, Gary Louk of Oklahoma, and Paul Louk of Alabama; one sister, Sharon Johnson of Florida; one uncle, Carl Brooks of Florida; a special sister-in-law, Juanita Phillips of West Virginia; and 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be conducted at The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services Saturday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Curlie Ray will officiate and interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville.
