The 66th annual Cooper reunion took place Aug. 8 at the Mountain Farm Campgrounds below Harman with 50 people in attendance.
The welcome was given by reunion president Tim Turner. Songs and morning devotions were given by Turner, Merry Ellen Dice, Merry Lou Vance, Dwight Cooper, Mark Bennett and Delores Dolly.
The meal was served at noon.
Turner gave the memorial and historical report for the year which included 16 births, five deaths, three marriages and two anniversaries.
Receiving door prizes were: Rosalita Carr, Marjorie Lawrence, Carolyn Dolly, John Cooper, John Lane, Betty Joyce Mayes, Rex Vance, Brenda Cooper, Rose Bennett, Lily Harman, Nathan Cooper, Karen Cooper, Thural Roy, Carl Carr, Brody Skidmore, Doug Cooper, Yvonne Webster, Mark Bennett, Dwight Cooper, Van Wymer, Joann Cooper and Jonnie Ann Lane Skidmore.
The eldest gentleman present was Carl Carr. Eldest lady was Yvonne Webster. The couple married the most years, 58, was Carl and Rosalita Carr. Newlyweds of 21 months were Tim and Brenda Cooper. The person traveling the greatest distance was Daryl Harman. The youngest child present was Brody Skidmore.
Officers for next year are president, Turner; vice president, Wilmoth Cooper; treasurer, Merry Ellen Dice; and secretary, Merry Lou Vance.
