The West Virginia men's basketball team will look to get back to its winning ways when it travels to Charleston to play VMI in a non-conference contest tonight at the Charleston Civic Center.
Tip off is slated for 7 p.m. and the action will be televised on the Big East Network.
The Mountaineers (3-1) hold a 41-15 advantage all-time against VMI in a series that saw its first action in 1916.
The two teams last met during the 1969 season in Morgantown with VMI posting a 87-84 win.
West Virginia is coming off a 74-70 loss to Minnesota in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Tournament.
The Mountaineers are led by senior guard Casey Mitchell, who is averaging 20.5 points per game.
Mitchell finished with a team-high 27 points in the loss to the Gophers and scored 31 in the contest prior.
Following Mitchell in the scoring gait is junior guard Daryl Bryant (11.3 ppg.), junior forward Kevin Jones (10.0), senior forward John Flowers (9.8) and sophomore forward Deniz Kilicli (6.4).
Jones is teams' leading rebounder with 6.3 caroms per contest. Flowers is pulling down six rebounds per game and Kilicli 5.8.
Senior guards Jonnie West and Joe Mazzulla have provided solid play off the bench for the Mountaineers this season.
VMI is currently 5-0 on the season and is coming off a 97-48 victory over Southern Virginia last Tuesday.
The Keydets are led by sophomore forward Stan Okoye, who is averaging a double-double at 22.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per contest.
Following Okoye is junior guard Keith Gabriel (20), freshmen guard Rodney Glasgow (12), junior forward Ron Burks (8.6 ppg) and junior center Stephen Sargent (3.6 ppg).
After today's game, WVU?will return home to face American University on Wednesday night.
