Hitting the trails

December 3, 2010
The Inter-Mountain

HAS takes two bike trips - Students at Highland Adventist School in Elkins recently completed two biking events. The students and staff completed the 77-mile trip in three days. "Our students all participate in our schoolwide outdoor skills training program," Principal Cheryl Jacko said. "We provide a wide variety of outdoor fitness skills for our students to participate in during the school year. Helping each student develop interests and skills in a variety of fitness activities is one of our instructional goals. We believe students who learn to enjoy these activities while they are young stand a better chance of staying active and fit for life." Highland Adventist School offers Christian education for students in grades K-12. For more information, call the school at 304-636-4274, visit www.highlandadventistschool.org or e-mail highlandadventistschool@gmail.com.
