D&E women, men best Salem

Davis & Elkins placed eight players in double figures to cruise past Salem International 123-45 Wednesday in non-conference action at the McDonnell Center.

Alicia Lentz recorded a double-double with 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Senators, who led 66-16 at halftime.

Page Turner added 15 points and dished out seven assists, while Ashley Magallanez and Jorden Lykes had 14 points each for Davis & Elkins.

Leah Fletcher chipped in with 11, while Rachel Gostomski, Amy Turner and Shalisa Hill had 10 points each.

Hill also had eight assists, while Amy Turner and Page Turner had three steals each for the Lady Senators.

Carrie Moore had 10 points, while Brittany Wells and Christina Suarez had nine points each for the Lady Tigers.

Shelby Howell, a former Tygarts Valley standout, chipped in with seven points for Salem-International.

"We needed this win," said D&E coach Jason Asbell. "We played well as a team and we were able to play everyone on our bench."

D&E (2-8) visits Alderson-Broaddus Saturday for a West Virginia Conference matchup.

Shippensburg (Pa.) 75, Wesleyan 44

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Ashley Giedemann had 18 points to lead Shippensburg past West Virginia Wesleyan 75-44 Wednesday in non-conference action.

Kasey Gardner added 15 points and seven rebounds and Dana Wert chipped in with 13 points for Shippensburg (2-3), which led 42-20 at halftime.

Jamie Kaufman had eight points, while Brianna Welch chipped in with seven points for the Lady Bobcats (5-1).

Wesleyan will host Mercyhurst (Pa.) Sunday at 2 p.m.

Men's Game

D&E 93, Salem International 80

SALEM?- Tim Turner fired in 35 points, including eight treys, to lead Davis &?Elkins past Salem International 93-80 on Wednesday night.

Malik Tinsley added 16 points, PJ Turner 11 points and 12 assists and Reggie Cook 10 points for the Senators, who will travel to the Bloomsburg tourney on Saturday
