EHS’ Broschart earns all-NCAC laurels

Elkins High's Joscelyn Broschart has been named to the all-North Central Athletic Conference volleyball team.

Broschart finished with 137 set assists and six aces for the Lady Tigers.

Other first-team selections included Taylor Wright (East Fairmont), Janna-Kate Simpson (Morgantown), Abbey Watkins (University), Cali Fluharty (East Fairmont), Sami Fletcher (Morgantown), Alyssa Fairbanks (University) and Kayla Boggs.

Elkins' Kaitlyn Miller was named to the second team. She had 21 solo blocks and 81 kills this season.

The rest of the second team consisted of Allie Fetty (Fairmont Senior), Caitlin Fluharty (East Fairmont), Paige Tuttle (North Marion), Lexi Kolar (University), Rebecca Hagedorn (Preston), Emily Morton (East Fairmont), Mariah Hatton (Morgantown) and Hannah Sickles (Preston).

"Both of these girls were great team players," said Elkins coach Penny Crawford of Broschart and Miller. "They both had great years and they deserved to get mentioned for all-conference."

The player of the year was Hannah Kehi from University High School, while the coach of the year was B.J. Campione from Morgantown.
